Light At The End of the Tunnel

It was rough going these last 24 hours, but alas things have calmed down. The doctors have removed the tube that helped me breathe, and I am breathing all on my own. My CO2 levels are normal and I am getting enough oxygen. There is still a tube that helps me eat, but that should hopefully be out soon, maybe tomorrow. I am still wired up and connected to lots of monitors, but at least now my mom and dad can pick me up and hold me.

It feels great to just lay in their arms whimper, yawn, and sleep.

We are all hoping that I can move into their room tomorrow, so we can snuggle all the time, and even more so, we are looking forward to going home, where apparently there is a whole family waiting to meet me. This Kaia character sounds the most excited.

UPDATE: All the tubes, including the feeding tube, have been removed and I am eating on my own from a bottle. We hope to start getting breast milk pumped and ready to go soon. I am wearing comfy cozy clothes and sleeping lots and lots. Still on schedule to go to my mommy and daddy's room tomorrow morning. Still have a rash on my chin from all the head gear I wore yesterday, but it is going away slowly.

Hoping to open my eyes soon and give you all a look.

  1. Dear Skyelar
Thanks for this update. I've been waiting for your news with bated breath. It's so good to know that you're feeling better.
I wish you a wonderful life with your fantastic family, especially that girl Kaia, who does sound like a lot of fun.
    Take care
Sophie, (I'm only due in 5 weeks, so I had to ask my daddy to write to you.)
